Participating in government goes beyond voting and paying taxes - it is thinking about issues, listening to differing opinions, and developing ideas of your own. †This course is designed to give you a taste of what it means to be a participant in Americaís democracy.

Grading:
Throughout the course of these units you will be expected to watch a series of films and television programs, complete a variety of readings, projects, current events and the occasional quiz.† Each assignment will require you to demonstrate your knowledge of the topic at hand and its relationship to the government as well as our Constitution.
Most importantly, your grade is determined by participation in class.† You need to contribute to class everyday in order to do well.† Think about the topics we discuss and demonstrate this thought with relevant questions and comments.†
* If you are not here then you will not be able to participate and therefore, will not do well.

Late Work or Missed Assignments:
If you are absent then you must get your work to me on your own. †If you miss class due to an excused absence, you must make it up in a timely manner. You are responsible for missed work.† I will not track you down.
